Ramin Karimloo commands the stage throughout as the Phantom. Perhaps those are meant to intensify the mystery, but they seem gratuitous as the music and acting do plenty to move the production along. In addition, cameras capture the action from so many angles it becomes dizzying at times, such as the quick cuts in one scene between Christina and her non-disfigured love interest, Raoul, or in the panning shots that are obscured by what look like balcony railings.
